Also called the 2021 Collection System Improvements – Phase 2, three public sewer pump stations are to be replaced, two at either end of Cascade Ave, as well as one near the County Fairgrounds.

The project is funded by a $1.9M Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant, a $620k United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) loan, a $70k USDA grant, and $400k City.

Construction on the Kanaka Pump Station, located at the east end of Cascade Ave, will begin sometime in April, and is scheduled for completion in August.

To facilitate a smooth, safe, and efficient project, SW Cascade Ave will have traffic impacts for the duration of site grading, wetwell decommissioning, and valve vault and sewer pipe installation, which may include intermittent closures. These closures will occur during contractor work hours, approximately 7:00a to 5:00p, Monday through Friday. Local access will still be provided, as well as access for emergency services and pedestrians.

The project schedule currently shows all pump stations completed in October 2024. Thank you to local residents for your patience as this project is constructed.

Please feel free to contact the City with any questions, comments, or concerns. You can also opt-in to receiving traffic updates via text by texting “STEVENSON” to 91896, a service provided by TextMyGov.
