2021 Water & Sewer Rate Increase

On December 10, 2020 the City Council adopted rates for sewer services. The monthly minimum for customers with water and sewer increased from $112.02 to $123.62 beginning with the Jan 2021 billing cycle; the consumption allowance remains at 400 cu ft/mo and the excess water rate increased from $.041/cu ft to $.043/cu ft.

The complete ordinances can be viewed online for Water Rates, Sewer Rates , and  Low income seniors or those on disability that demonstrate income and age eligibility pay 50% of the base rates for water and sewer. Eligibility must be renewed annually.

Customers with sewer service who have not requested an inspection are being billed a $10/mo fee for Downspout/Sump Pump Connection. This fee can be removed from the customer’s billing if the City is able to verify that the structure’s rain or groundwater collection systems are not being routed to the sewer.

There is a moratorium on new Commercial connections that would adversely impact BOD & TSS levels for the sewage treatment plant;  new residential connections are allowed and not restricted by the moratorium.
