Floodplain Management Program Updates

For the past several years, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has been using new data and technology to update the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) of the City. In November 2021 you or the owner of your property at the time received a mailer describing this process, along with your right to comment or appeal the draft maps. FEMA has now resolved all comments and appeals, and the new FIRM will take effect this Spring. If the property owners of Stevenson are to maintain coverage under their flood insurance policies, the City must also adopt the new maps and amend the way we regulate development in floodplains. Letters went out to the property owners of parcels this change will effect. Please be on the lookout for this communication. If you do not receive a letter, please contact Planning

The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, March 11th at 6:00 pm. Attendance at the public hearing is possible in person at City Hall (7121 East Loop Rd), via conference call (+1-253-215-8782 or +1-346-248-7799 ID# 856 3738 8112) or via webinar (Click Zoom Link Here
