Return to Clean Water Facility Upgrades

Status Updates

July 2022 - Stellar J has officially mobilized and broken ground!  Initial work activities include setting up erosion and sediment control devices, locating and relocating existing underground utilities, and setting up their dewatering plan.  One of the first major tasks is to construct the anoxic basin, which requires extensive excavation.  Substantial groundwater during excavation is expected and Stellar J has developed a robust plan to manage (collection, retain, treat, discharge) this challenging circumstance.

June 10, 2022 - Though Stellar J will not officially mobilize on site until June 20th, they are still hard at work developing schedules, locating and purchasing materials, and lining up subcontractors.  If you were to take a peak into the WWTP compound you would see a feathering of stakes, as the surveyors have been laying out locations for utility work and the new aeration basin.  Exciting work on the horizon!

May 20, 2022 - The WWTP contract was awarded to Stellar J Corporation.  Notice to Proceed was issued on May 13th and the preconstruction meeting will be held on Monday, May 23rd. We are looking forward to seeing a schedule and working with Stellar J to move this exciting project forward.

March 17, 2022 - Pre-bid on site meeting was held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. Potential bidders had the opportunity to tour the existing facility and witness a test pit being dug to provide insight into some subsurface conditions. Bids are due on April 13th.

September 2021 - The project consists of two phases. The first phase will be procuring equipment due to the long lead-time for certain parts. Equipment bids are due October 13th at 2pm. The second phase is construction and the request for bids will go out between November 2021 and January 2022.
