Recreational Fire Burn Ban Lifted 

 

Small debris fires will continue to be prohibited on  Skamania County regulated lands. 

 

Recreational fires must be in a fire pit meeting the Skamania County minimum fire pit standards per SCC 8.14.050(B). Please be sure recreational fires are completely extinguished before leaving them unattended. Making smart, informed decisions and burning responsibly is the best way to prevent wildfires.

Recreational fires will be banned until further notice

 

Due to current moisture levels, east winds, continued hot and dry weather conditions and other fire related factors, the Skamania County Fire Marshal is issuing a ban on all open burning, including recreational fires, at 12:01 am, August 13, 2023.

 

All open burning on private lands within Skamania County is PROHIBITED, including recreational fires, until further notice.

 

If you are unsure if you are camping on state lands or not, please call before you burn: 800-323-BURN or visit burnportal.dnr.wa.gov. Making smart, informed decisions and burning responsibly is the best way to prevent wildfires.
