Fire
Established in 1908, the City of Stevenson Fire Department has a long-standing tradition of protecting life and property through dedicated volunteer service. Today, the department operates under a joint operations agreement with Skamania County Fire District 2, reflecting a strong partnership that enhances emergency response capabilities across the region.
Under the leadership of Fire Chief Ray Broughton, the department is staffed by 30 highly trained and committed volunteers who respond to emergency calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These volunteers are prepared to handle a wide range of emergencies following an “all hazards” response model. These models include fires, motor vehicle collisions, public safety incidents, and mutual aid support.
In addition to emergency response, the department remains actively engaged in fire prevention, public education, training exercises, and community safety programs.
