Status Updates

March 2023 - Applications have been completed for Congressional Direct Spending (CDS) requests through all three federal representatives for this project. This is a lengthy process and not guaranteed as, if we are included in a list that moves forward, it depends on the federal government approving a capital budget. Staff will continue to apply for other sources of funding to keep the project on track.

January 2023 - The City has contract with Grayling Engineers to complete a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) for the Cascade Avenue Utility Improvement project. The PER will be used to apply for a USDA Rural Development loan and for other funding opportunities.

December 2022 - This project was identified on the recently adopted Capital Improvement Program and is necessary to address the sewer line that serve our industrial area, which is currently undersized for the existing uses. It will upsize the sewer line from 8" to 12" to accommodate existing and future needs. Since the half of the road road will be disturbed, the aging waterline will also be replaced and conduit added for lighting on the north side of Cascade Avenue for increased safety.
