First Street Pedestrian Amenities & Overlook

First Street Pedestrian Amenities and Overlook - In 2019 the City was awarded a grant to design vegetated curb extensions, new sidewalk, crosswalk striping, a pedestrian overlook, connection to an existing waterfront path, and streetscaping. In 2023 the City of Stevenson was awarded two grants to construct the project. The completed amenities and overlook will encourage traffic speed reduction, extend walkability for our downtown core, improve safety for pedestrians, and allow a safe alternative access to the City's waterfront.

Wastewater Treatment Plant

This project upgrades the City's wastewater treatment plant to meet capacity and redundancy for existing and future loads. This includes upgrades to headworks, secondary treatment, disinfection treatment, electrical system, SCADA, and civil improvements.

Rock Creek Pump Station and Cascade Interceptor

This project completely replaces the Rock Creek Pump Station and replaces 700 feet of sewer line along SW Rock Creek Drive for increased capacity.

SW Rock Creek Drive will have single lane closures from its intersection with Rock Creek Park Road to the Mill Pond Trailhead. Additionally, SW Vancouver Avenue may experience intermittent full closures. These closures will occur during contractor work hours, approximately 7:00a to 5:00p, Monday through Friday for the duration of the project. Local access will still be provided, as well as access for emergency services and school buses. Pedestrian access will be provided via a detour over the Fairground Bridge.

Clean Water Facility Upgrades

We are moving forward with construction of upgrades to the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant, originally built in 1971. Construction of these improvements began in Spring of 2023 and are expected to be substantially complete by August of 2024.

Tree Preservation Plan

Mature trees throughout the city are a valuable community asset. In order to maintain the city-owned trees, this project will create an inventory of current resources, result in the adoption of a management plan for those resources, train staff, and provide a way forward for ongoing plan updates and identification of future demonstration projects.

Transportation Study

Project consists of conducting a city-wide traffic study to allow for safe and easy flow of traffic and assist with identifying and prioritizing improvements.
